    Established in 2003, the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) is Africa’s first and largest network of centres of excellence for innovative post- graduate training in mathematical sciences. We enable Africa’s youth to shape the continent’s future through Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education, public engagement and research. We have five institutes of excellence in South Africa, Senegal, Ghana, Cameroon and Rwanda and a Research and Innovation Centre in Rwanda.

Available courses

Introduction to LaTeX is a foundational course designed to introduce learners to the LaTeX document preparation system widely used in academia, research, and professional publishing. The course covers the basics of creating and formatting documents, including text styling, mathematical equations, tables, figures, references, and bibliographies. Participants will gain practical skills in producing professional-quality reports, research papers, theses, and presentations using LaTeX. By the end of the course, learners will be able to confidently create well-structured technical and scientific documents with precision and consistency.
